aaaaaand our September book choice!!

Last Friday’s theme was “Life Before the Internet,” a topic that wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the stack of books I always carried with me as a kid. I’ve always been a reader, and I love the ways stories can connect us to deeper truths that we might not be able to express on our own. I’ve also long been a fan of book clubs, with some of my earliest reading memories being connected to the reading challenges of my childhood. Reading is of course great on its own, but reading alongside others with a deadline to motivate you?? That’s a special kind of magic. 

Since the Sincerely, Celisia community has grown so much since my launch this past Spring, I wanted to bring a book club element to my little corner of the internet. 

ANNOUNCING THE SINCERELY, CELISIA BOOK CLUB!!

How will book club work?

At the start of each session, I’ll announce our book club choice and the fun will begin! You’ll have the whole month to read at your own pace, and I’ll check in again at the end of the month with my review!

But what about the “club” part? Is there a discussion group?

Yes! For now, we’ll do our discussion via the Threads feature in Substack. On the third Monday of the month, I’ll launch the discussion thread and we can all share our thoughts before my final review is published. I’m also considering adding a Zoom chat in the future, but that is pending interest from you all.

Can anyone join?

You’ll only be able to access the book announcements, Threads discussions, and Zoom calls if you’re a paid subscriber. I really wanted to offer a more substantial “thank you” to those of you who financially support the sustainability of this newsletter, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!
