Pssst.... I've been DYING to share this news and now I finally can!! 🎉 (Issue #24)
This week’s theme is fall + food – cooking, eating, and sharing meals among the changing leaves.
Hi friends!
Before we hop into today’s issue, I have a really important announcement that I’m excited to share. It’s a project that I’ve been quietly working on for a while – The Vanishing Point Podcast. I’m honored to partner with TenderfootTV and the Up and Vanished Team as a host for this incredible true crime investigative podcast. The trailer dropped this past Wednesday, and it would mean the world to me if you spend a few minutes to check it out. And of course, don’t forget to hit the “follow” button so you don’t miss episodes when they drop later this month!
Here’s the full description:
Six hundred thousand people are reported missing each year. Most are isolated events without a common thread. But in some instances, the victims are linked by one key detail...location.
From the creators of Up and Vanished, The Vanishing Point transports listeners to the last known location shared by multiple missing individuals, uncovering new details about their cases and the significance of the area.
In this six-episode installment, we'll take you to Hoopa, California, home of the Hoopa Valley tribe. Located in the Pacific Northwest, this area is known for its breathtaking landscapes but there's more to it than just its natural beauty. It holds a haunting history of numerous unsolved missing person cases. Join host Celisia Stanton and the Up and Vanished team as we explore what makes this tribal land...a vanishing point.
Coming October 25th.
As you likely know, this past Monday was Indigenous People’s Day, and the timing for the release of The Vanishing Point trailer is no coincidence. The lives and stories of Indigenous people deserve protection and elevation, and my hope is that we continue to do this year-round – not just on a nationally recognized holiday.
If The Vanishing Point sounds interesting to you, I’d love for you to leave a review on Apple Podcasts. Reviews + ratings are hugely important to the success of a show, and writing a few words is a great way to support the amplification of these stories.
As always, thanks for your support on all my projects. Now onto our regularly scheduled Sincerely, Celisia programming!

Like anyone who lives somewhere with a true four seasons: I love Fall!
Living in Minnesota, this time of year is especially sweet. September and the first week of October were unseasonably hot, but you could finally feel the cooler air moving its way through the city this week. And I just love it so much – the changing leaves, the seasonal drinks, the spooky movies, all of it! My husband Andrew and I planned a bunch of events for this coming weekend, all themed around the season. The core of our plan is to visit an apple orchard and bake these Apple Cinnamon Blondies with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting. And as someone who cares about food a great deal, the flavors of fall are some of my favorites. The colder weather just opens up so many options from hot apple cider to delicious soups (I especially looove these *Frontier Soups packs for a quick and delicious fall meal).
So in honor of the season, I wanted to center today’s issue around fall and food. Enjoy!
A round-up of things to watch, read, and listen to as you head into the weekend.

The New York Times: How Cooking Videos Took Over the World (gift link) by Priya Krishna and Umi Syam
This article was especially fun to read. The piece explores the history of cooking videos, integrating interactive, multimedia elements as you scroll through the writing. The content itself was phenomenal, but the creative storytelling style really brought this piece to the next level!!
The New Yorker: The Peanut Puzzle by Jerome Groopman
This article explores the many mysteries and unanswered questions about the causes and treatment of children’s allergies. Scientists have some answers, and some signs are pointing to the idea that our diet and environment may be playing a larger role in allergy development than previously thought. Really interesting read – Check it out!
Bad on Paper Podcast: How a Cookbook Gets Made with Dan Pelosi
I’ve talked about my love for @grossypelosi before, and have really been enjoying trying recipes from his new cookbook. That said, this podcast episode was a great behind-the-scenes look into the work of one of my favorite creators! The process of making a cookbook is very different than other genres, and I appreciated the candid way in which Pelosi shared his experience securing a publishing deal and creating his book. I especially enjoyed how he framed collaboration as part of his creative process – it was something I really related to as a creator myself. Highly recommend!
Playlists to add to your music library.
I love making seasonal playlists, and my fall ‘23 list is coming together nicely. It’s a collection of the best songs to listen to while wearing your coziest sweater <3
Things to try + share in the group chat.
As a member of Bachelor Nation, I’ve really enjoyed following @rachel_kirkconnell on TikTok and have saved tons of her recipes to my list of things to try. I’ve especially loved this go-to salmon recipe and this sweet pepper and cucumber salad recipe with ginger dressing and chili crunch. Both have become weeknight staples for me.
During my honeymoon in Italy this past June I fell in love with the Aperol Spritz. I truly believe there’s no better cocktail on a hot summer day. But as we move into the colder months, I’m really excited to try this Aperol Spritz snack cake recipe. Now that the days are getting cooler I feel better about turning on my oven, and plan to bake my way through the coming months!
I’ve been eyeing *this round ice cube tray since I stumbled upon it a few months ago. I love the cute round shape of the molds, and the bin it comes with makes for a great storage option.
I know I’ve mentioned *this cookbook holder before, but I use it pretty much every day and now couldn't live without it. The bamboo has a sleek look that blends well with the rest of my kitchen decor, and I can even prop my iPad on the stand for digital recipes. It really makes cooking so much easier!
Another recipe I can’t wait to try is this creamy sausage and courgette pasta. My sisters shared it in our group chat, and it looks like the perfect creamy, hearty meal for a cool fall day.
Thanks again for being here every Friday! Before I let you free into your weekend, here’s a sneak peek at what paid subscribers got this past Monday:
