Hi friends!

June was a wild month! Wedding season is in full swing, so I’ve been busy editing a never-ending stream of photos (shameless plug! If you’re in Minnesota, hire me for your weddings, engagements, family sessions, headshots, corporate events—you name it!). And because I apparently love my work, I also decided that this spring and early summer would be the perfect time to hit the ground running on prep for Truer Crime Season 3. You heard that right – new episodes are officially coming to a podcast player near you on August 4th! Read more about it and check out the teaser for the new season here.

Outside of work, I’ve been loving having Andrew home for the summer. The unique perks of being a teacher’s wife! :)

Of course, the month wasn’t without its unexpected hiccups. Andrew got his tonsils out at the start of the month, and let me tell you that recovery is BRUTAL. To make things just a little more chaotic, I ended up in the ER with a kidney stone on the same day Andrew hit the most painful stage of his recovery. And then surprise! A week later, Andrew hemorrhaged and we were right back in the ER. We’re both good now, but yeah, for a few weeks there we really couldn’t catch a break, haha.

As we enter July’s warm embrace, I’m hitting your inbox with yet another recommendation-packed edition of P.S., the special bonus issue I give to my paid subscribers each month.

Today’s issue is on the longer side, so if you’re short on time, the key below can help you jump around:

I know how frustrating paywalls are! When possible, I’ll try to offer gift links through my subscriptions to support access to high-quality journalism.

  • Martha-Stewart-Fired-Me Cookies by @scgormley - These cookies were perfected shortly after their creator was fired by THE Martha Stewart. It’s a name with an irresistible sales pitch, and I’m super excited to try them out. :)

  • Citrus-Soy Chicken Ramen (gift link) by Christian Reynoso - This is a suuuuper simple recipe that I’m excited to try during a busy week. Soup is great for meal-prepping, so I imagine it would make for great leftovers, too!

  • Mom’s creamy broccoli pasta by Maxi’s Kitchen - I’m probably never going to say “no” to a pasta recipe, and it has broccoli so it’s healthy, right?!
