A Very Busy Season (Issue #71)
Coming up for air amidst a chaotic start to fall with a few recommendations to tide you over.
Hi friends!
As you may know, I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer for nearly eight years. Each fall, my team and I dive into a whirlwind of weddings, engagements, and family sessions, which keeps us incredibly busy. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stretched thin, so I’m keeping today’s newsletter intro short and sweet. Don’t worry, though—my usual recommendations are still below. I’m just opting for fewer words at the top this time! ✨
I hope the change of seasons is treating you well, and I’ll be back next week with a longer, more typical issue!
A round-up of things to watch, read, and listen to as you head into the weekend.
Podcast: Status: Untraced
This podcast looks into the disappearance of survivalist and world traveler Justin Alexander who has been missing since 2016. The show’s host, Liam, is an editor for Truer Crime, and I got to work with the show’s co-creator, Alex, on The Vanishing Point, so it was so cool to listen to the new show they made together. It actually hit #1 shortly after it came out, and I’ve loved cheering for their success! Check it out!
Grist: Greenland’s marina ecosystem is experiencing a radical ‘regime change’ by Avery Schuyler Nunn
This article was included in the weekly newsletter I receive through my farm share. It's a fascinating look at how Greenland's marine ecosystem is experiencing and adapting to climate change. I'm particularly interested in the ways the earth and its inhabitants adapt to changes in the environment, whether man-made or not.
Netflix: Uncoupled
This show stars Neil Patrick-Harris as a newly single New Yorker looking for love after being dumped by his partner of 17 years. The trailer looks really interesting, and I’ve added it to my fall binge list.
Questions for you + your besties <3
Would you rather be allergic to all animals or all trees?
Would you rather sleep in a coffin or work in a building where all the windows, doors, floors, and ceilings are transparent glass?
Would you rather all of your plates and bowls be made from glued-together toothpicks (yes, they do leak), or all your cups be fur-lined?
Would you rather have a cricket follow you around and chirp loudly everywhere you go, or never be able to listen to music again?
Would you rather eat movie theatre popcorn with every meal for the rest of your life, or never get to drink anything other than water forever?
Things to try + share in the group chat.

If you haven’t yet branched out into the world of flare leggings, I have the perfect find for you! This pair from Fabletics has been a godsend and if you haven’t bought from Fabletics before, they have a really great 2-for-$24 deal for new customers that I highly recommend!
If your baking projects never turn out right, your measuring cups might be to blame! Measuring cups use volume to estimate mass, which can cause variations big enough to completely alter a recipe. This reel explains it in more detail, and has me whipping out my food scale with more regularity.
I recently bought two books that
recommended in her newsletter a few months ago. The first is *Bad Tourists by Caro Carver, a thriller perfect for jumpstarting the spooky fall season. The second is *The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand, which I devoured in just a few days. The television adaptation debuted on Netflix a few weeks ago and it has been so entertaining to see all of the creative changes they made!! :)
Last week, I shared a little behind-the-scenes of what we’re planning for Truer Crime Season 2! Truthfully, I could really use your help as I gear up for launch — read more about it here.
Have a great weekend!
